WOW!!

I can't believe it but Meghan is 17. It seams like just yesterday I was laying in a hospital bed with my feet in the air and flat on my back for 5 weeks all while I was totally drugged up trying not to have her! BTW my feet didn't touch the floor the whole time I was there(yah, it sucked). But she was determined to get out and was born 13 weeks early at a whopping 2lbs 14oz and 15" long, her head was smaller than my fist! Now she is taller than I am and you'd never quess she was soo tiny.
On her bday(the 23rd) I picked her up from school and we had lunch at Taco Bell she didn't want to go back so I let her ditch the rest of the day. Meghan then wanted pizza(which she could live on) and cheesecake for her b-day dinner, she was happy to have all favorites in one day.

My Sweet Baby...

For the last week or so any blanket Kortney gets her hands on she has to have it spread out on the floor. She doesn't care if its her favorite(the one my good friend Belinda made her), or a comforter or a burp cloth. As long as she can lay her head on it shes good! Well, I was busy most of the day getting all the vinyl orders ready for Souper Sat and wasn't able to stop when she was ready for her nap, so I told her lay down on the blanket we had put on my office floor. About 5 mins. later I was at a stopping point - she was too tired to wait for me :(

Homecoming

Coolidge High Schools homecoming was lastnight and both my girls went stag with a group of their friends. They both had alot of fun hanging out with friends and dancing. I do need to say I'm not enjoying this too much...proves that I'm just getting old! Its hard to beleive hpw skimpy ALL the dresses were. I finally gave up(and ran out of time)trying to find modest dresses for these girls. We'll be making some sort of jacket before Meghan wears that dress again.

flu or NO flu??

After having two really nasty flu viruses hit our home in the last few months I choose shots. So today I hauled ALL 5 of my cute kiddos up to see Dr Mike.
I had told Bethani that we were going to see Grandma Cole after her shot. About 10 mins. after I had told her that she came to me with a plan... she was staying at grandmas house when I took all the other kids to get their shots. Beth was pretty sad when I told we weren't going to grandmas till the shots were all done.
So... I had a few didn't mind but a couple of them let me know how they felt about the whole thing.

Atleast they weren't sad for long :)

Cancer Sucks!!

Last October my dad was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer. He scheduled surgery and until they got in there they didn't know the tumor was the size of a large grapefruit. The tumor grew thru his colon and into his his bladder so he was left with a colostomy bag. Several weeks after his surgery he started chemo and radiation which I'm sure you all have heard that it makes you pretty darn sick. After a year of treatments he went in this last Monday to get rid of the bag and get his insides reconnected. Unfortunately it didn't happen, his colon/rectum was too damaged from the radiation and the surgeon was not able to put things back together. Since he's only 60 he'll have to live alot of years with the bag and that just makes me really sad for him. Right now we're just praying that he has a fast recovery, any extra prayers would be appreciated!

Keep the Sabbath Day Holy...

After 8 hours of conference Steve decided he was going to go get on the tractor and work on our roads & knock down some weeds. While he was out there our neighbor came over and asked for help with his ditches. So he was hooking up the border disk when he tripped over something and put a good 2-2.5" gash in his shin. So, we head to urgent care and they don't think they can stitch it since its so deep, they send us to the er but there is a 3 hr. wait. Since his leg is throbbing and he doesn't feel like sitting in the er for 3 hours we go back to urgent care and they take us back to start cleaning and shooting it with pain killers within a few minutes after getting there. Once its numb she comes in to start stitching, since it's on the shin bone and is split open so far she has to have her nurse hold it closed so she can start the stitch about 1/4" on the outside of the cut. She ended up weaving the needle in & out so that there are 2 stitches in one for a total of 6 stitches. Yay he's hurting....maybe he'll learn not to work/play on Sunday when he grows up!!

Off to school they go...

Since the hubby moved us to the middle of nowhere I've been homeschooling Anber. She had done really good the last 2 years with working ahead and she enjoyed being able to sleep in & watch t.v or read while eating lunch but she didn't get ANY social interactions with other kids her age except for church and mutual. So....she started at Coolidge High yesterday. I'll sure miss being able to run my errands w/out the 2 little girls.

My one & only little guy started Kindergarten this year and he just LoVeS it! The real bummer is the typical little person needs to be in bed by 8ish so they can get up in the AM right? Not Gabe...if hes asleep before 9pm he's up at 6am dressed and wanting me to take him to the bus. I really wish I could have some of that energy!

Peer Pressure!

I tried to be stong....it lasted about a year. But I finally caved in and started my own blog. Please be patient while I figure this out and hopefully it won't be long till I get some pictures up!
